Live music back ...at drive-in gigs

CINEMAS and live music venues may still be out of bounds but Scots will still be able to enjoy some entertainment this summer.

A series of drive-in events will include movies, ‘car-a-oke’ sing-alongs, bingo, silent discos, live bands, quizzes, comedy and food, all with social distancing measures in place.

The Parking Lot Social festivities will be in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth, Dundee and Inverness in August and September and will cater for up to 250 cars each night. A ‘Social Kids’ event will have an earlier start time.

Audio will be transmitted to vehicles via wireless headphones and a dedicated FM radio channel.

Josh Kinnersley, of organisers XL Event Lab, said: ‘It really feels like everyone could do with a bit of fun.’
