10million thanks for showing you care

-

WE have never doubted the generosity and public-spiritedness of our remarkable readers. In countless appeals down the years, whenever we have asked for your help you have always rallied to the cause.

But even by your own sky-high standards, support for Mail Force – the charity providing personal protective equipment to workers on the Covid front line – has been simply astounding.

In less than two months, your donations have reached a landmark £10million, enabling Mail Force to source and deliver 7.5million masks, aprons, gowns and coveralls where they are most urgently needed. And there’s more on the way.

As well as hospitals and care homes, your money is funding deliveries to charities and voluntary organisations, which have been hit by a ‘triple-whammy’ of soaring PPE prices, limited supply and reduced funds.

One of these is Mencap, which provides residential facilities for those with learning disability, whose staff we are providing with equipment. In all care settings, your donations are hugely appreciated. Indeed, the manageress of one small care home in Warwickshire called you ‘earth angels’.

‘We ran out of aprons yesterday,’ she said. ‘Then Mail Force called and I thought, there is a God!’ Together we are truly making a difference.
