City Council says secondary pupils ‘need’ 14 hours of teaching per week. Really? That’s a lot less than they’ve ever received before. Given how terribly we appear to be failing our children as chaos reigns over the reopening of schools, it seems as though local authorities should be the last ones to determine what it is school pupils need.
