Hugging in hoodies, Jodie and her new beau snapped in UK
SMILING while togged up in comfy hoodies and jackets, Jodie Comer looks cosy with new love interest James Burke – who has been pictured in the UK for the first time.
The 26-year-old lacrosse player from Duxbury, Massachusetts, was snapped outside Miss Comer’s parents’ house in Liverpool, where she has stayed in lockdown.
Mr Burke, who is American, was also pictured enjoying dinner with the Killing Eve actress in her home city.
Miss Comer, 27, who plays bisexual assassin Villanelle in the BBC drama, was recently snapped in a hoodie from his club, Boston Laxachusetts. But it hasn’t all been plain sailing for the pair.
Miss Comer has faced anger online due to her rumoured boyfriend’s political views – he is a registered Republican, and appeared to follow US president Donald Trump on Instagram before he deleted his social media accounts.
Twitter users called for Miss Comer to be ‘cancelled’ – when an online community ostracises a person – as pictures of the pair emerged on social media on Wednesday. Many said her support for Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ rights are at odds with his apparent Republican support. She was also trending on Twitter under the hashtag ‘#jodiecomerisoverparty’.
Miss Comer’s new relationship follows a split from her long-term boyfriend last March. Representatives for Miss Comer did not respond to requests for comment.
FOLLOWING the vicious attack on author JK Rowling for defending women’s rights against transgender militancy, the fascistic Twitter army now spews its bile at Killing Eve actress Jodie Comer.
Her alleged offence? Dating a supporter of the US Republican Party. Whether it’s true or not, since when was allegiance to a respectable political organisation a crime?
Tragically this is just the latest bid to shame and ‘cancel’ someone who has fallen foul of social media’s kangaroo court. It is bullying of the most wicked kind and must be challenged at every opportunity.

The right to express an opinion – even one that offends – is a cornerstone of any liberal democracy. We cannot let it be eroded by a screaming, ignorant mob.
