Julia Bradbury, 50. The Dublin-born TV presenter, former host of Countryfile and Watchdog, left school at 16 and got her first TV job by writing to Janet StreetPorter and sending her a hotel towel (after hearing that she collected them). She has three children, a son named Zephyrus and twins Xanthe and Zena.

ELISABETH MOSS, 38. The double Emmy-winning u.S. actress, star of The West Wing and Mad Men, started acting aged six, in a TV series alongside Sandra Bullock. She only signed up to her leading role in The Handmaid’s Tale on the condition that she could be a producer and took the job so seriously she insisted on approving the shade of red of her character’s uniform. ‘I was so crazy that I made them fed-Ex me a fabric swatch so I could look at it in person,’ she said.
