Boris’ camping holiday sounds a right Carrie on, jokes his ex

-

BORIS JOhnSOn’s summer holiday plans have caused hilarity among his friends and former lovers. The Prime Minister and his fiancee, Carrie Symonds, are taking their three-month-old son, Wilfred, on a camping holiday to Scotland.

But Petronella Wyatt, who had a four-year affair with Boris, has voiced her scepticism publicly.

‘Boris and Carrie are going to spend part of their Scottish holiday camping,’ Petronella told friends online. ‘That will finish off their relationship. Boris can’t cook and Carrie only likes luxe private villas in hot places.’

Carrie’s previous holiday with Boris was to the Caribbean last winter. The £15,000 trip caused controversy because of mystery over who paid for it.

After much confusion and demands by the Labour Party for a formal inquiry by parliament’s watchdog, it emerged that Conservative donor David Ross, co-founder of Carphone Warehouse, assisted Boris in securing a holiday villa on the private island Mustique.

no 10 sources have said the PM and Carrie will head to Scotland this weekend for a ‘paternity holiday’. They will be north of the Border for six days, which will include a ‘couple of days of camping’. Last month Boris declared that he planned to stay in the UK for his summer break.

he said: ‘I would encourage people still to think of wonderful staycations here. All my happiest holiday memories are of holiday vacations in the UK, bucket-and-spade jobs or whatever.’

Boris had promised to leave his second wife, Marina Wheeler, for Petronella, daughter of late journalist and Labour politician Woodrow Wyatt. They met while he was editor of The Spectator magazine and she was his deputy. The affair resulted in a miscarriage and an abortion.

Boris was fired from his shadow cabinet post in 2004, by then Tory leader Michael howard, for lying about the affair, as he had initially categorically denied it.
