Waging war on litter
AMId the stress, stay-at-home orders and social distancing of lockdown, Britain’s green spaces proved more important than ever, offering millions the chance to escape outdoors, exercise and breathe fresh air.
Sadly, selfish Covidiots frequently cluttered them up with discarded face masks, plastic bottles and other junk.
Today though, the Mail’s remarkable readers will mobilise to help combat the ugly scourge of litter by kicking off the Great British September Clean.
Adhering to coronavirus guidelines, public-spirited volunteers will remove the rubbish spoiling our precious landscape and endangering wildlife. As has been demonstrated time and again, shoulder to shoulder we are making a difference.
