- By MARCUS TOWNEND

FraNKie DeTTOri will ride aidan O’Brien’s irish Derby winner Santiago in tomorrow’s Pertemps St Leger at Doncaster and believes he has a great chance of claiming his seventh victory in the race.

Dettori, who teamed up with O’Brien to win on Scorpion in 2005, said: ‘Santiago is a Classic winner and he stayed two miles in the Goodwood Cup. He’s a great ride in an open race. i think Pyledriver is the biggest danger. He has class.’

Twelve runners have been declared for the final Classic of the season with english King, trained by ed Walker, also entered in Sunday’s Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp, where he would be ridden by Dettori.

Ladbrokes make Pyledriver, trained by Willie Muir, the 11-4 favourite with Santiago 3-1. Dettori won last year on John Gosden-trained Logician, who comfortably beat Mythical Magic in his first race back in the Sky Sports racing Conditions Stakes at Doncaster yesterday. The colt was close to death in February after contracting an intestinal disease.

Gosden said: ‘You’ve got to remember this horse had two months in intensive care. We’re very pleased to see him back. it’s been a long road.’

Dettori also teamed up with Gosden to win the May Hill Stakes on indigo Girl.
