‘InSpIreD by the successes in your column, I was wondering if you’d help to find another set of lost school friends?’ emails Mike Gellatley, of Budleigh Salterton, in Devon.

‘In 1951, the new Haymill primary School opened in Burnham, Buckingham­shire, and in 1953 the first children — i ncluding myself — l eft for secondary schools. Since then, several of the boys have remained in contact, but none of the girls have so far been located.

‘If you were to find any of the “lost girls” it would be much appreciate­d. This might be our last chance, as we move into our late 70s! My picture shows

our class of 1953 with Headmaster Mr rackstraw and teacher Mrs Cooper. Form captain pat Horsham is in the second row, sixth from the left. pat and I spent many a Sunday afternoon together. I haven’t heard from her since, when she left Haymill for Slough High School and I left for Sir William Borlase’s Grammar in Marlow.
