Easy Rider goes green as Harley launches ebike
ITS motorbikes have been the highspeed dream machines of choice for generations of enthusiasts, featuring in films such as Easy Rider.
Now Harley-Davidson is going green by unveiling something a little slower – its first prototype electric bicycle.
With white wheels and a brown saddle, the ebike, pictured, harks back to the first bike sold in 1903 by Harley’s Scottish founder, Arthur Davidson. The Serial 1 also borrows its nickname.
The brand has hinted that its ebikes may be on sale from March but has not released any specifications. The market for zero-emission ebikes is growing fast, with machines allowed to carry riders at up to 15.5mph on UK roads.
