Call off Highers, say parents

A MAJORITY of parents believe Higher and Advanced Higher exams should be cancelled next year.

National 5 exams for younger pupils have already been scrapped but other exams are due to go ahead in May.

Just over a quarter of parents (2 . per cent) agree they should continue in 2021, while 50. per cent want them to be cancelled because of disruption to learning caused by the coronavirus pandemic, according to a National Parent Forum of Scotland survey of 4,19 .

A Scottish Government decision will be made by mid-February. A spokesman said: ‘We are monitoring the position closely and listening to different views, so we welcome this survey.’
