why Sajid Javid reportedly turned down the chance to return to Downing Street as Boris Johnson’s chief of staff? The former chancellor has won a highly lucrative role for U.S tech firm C3.ai. Javid will be an adviser on the board, which also boasts Condoleezz­a Rice as part of its executive team. The role, which comes hot on the heels of another highly paid position at J. P. Morgan, will see Javid paid a handsome £151,835 for no more than 12 days work per year. That’s more than £1,500 an hour.
