FAST-CHANGING Covid rules have taken their toll on retailers across the board.

But Associated British Foods (ABF) has been hit harder than many because its Primark chain does not have an accompanyi­ng online shop – and it warned at the start of the month that the second lockdown would cost it £375m.

When ABF holds its annual meeting next Friday, investors will be crossing their fingers that things are looking up after positive updates about potential Covid vaccines in the last two weeks and confirmati­on that the lockdown in England will not be extended beyond December 2.
