So were Bea and pals flouting virus rules on their night out?

PRINCESS Beatrice has been accused of flouting Covid regulations on a night out at an upmarket London restaurant.

She was videoed by an outraged fellow diner inside the Isabel restaurant in Mayfair, along with her husband and a group from up to four different households.

She even posed for a picture with one of the party – a fashion designer friend – without social distancing.

Last night a spokesman for the princess, 32, and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, insisted they had been at a work-related ‘business development’ dinner, which is permitted.

Tier 2 rules say you can only meet socially with friends and family indoors – including pubs and restaurants – who you either live with or have formed a support bubble with.

Other groups of six have to meet outdoors and only work meetings are exempt.

The spokesman said: ‘This was a mid-week Wednesday evening, work-related, business development dinner, it was held in compliance with all government guidelines, the dinner was held in the early evening and all parties left in good time before the Government curfew.

‘Masks were worn in line with the Government advice.’

The Mail understands that the meeting was organised by Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo, 37, a property developer.

The Sun reported the threehour dinner, which took place on December , shocked fellow diners and quoted one onlooker as saying: ‘It looked like a social event to me. Bea should be setting a better example. If the Royal Family can’t get coronavirus rules right, what hope for the rest of us? Beatrice and her friends were laughing, joking and enjoying themselves all evening.’

One of the six-strong group was Beatrice’s friend, Peter Dundas, a Norwegian fashion designer she has known for many years. They were seen chatting animatedly at the table and a posed side by side for a photograph together, a clear breach of social distancing regulations.

Mr Dundas subsequently posted the picture online, bragging about enjoying a ‘catch-up’ with his royal friend. There was no mention of it being a work meeting and several of his friends posted birthday greetings below it. He turns 51 this month.

A spokesman for Beatrice did not comment on the picture.

Buckingham Palace al s o declined to comment.
