A FORMER police officer is looking for four colleagues.

‘While going through boxes of photos, I discovered one tucked away in a corner,’ writes Jack McKenzie, 78, of Deal, Kent.

‘It was taken on a three-month training course at the Scottish Police College in Tulliallan Castle in 1962. Pictured are Myra Boyd of Coatbridge, Lindsay Coutts of Scottish North Eastern Counties, Annie Donald of Aberdeen and Margaret MacLeod of Inverness.

‘The course covered all aspects of the law, fitness — including cross-country runs, self-defence and swimming — first aid and final exams. We produced an

‘After an intense three months, we bid farewell and rejoined our respective police forces.

‘I served for 11 years with the Lothians and Peebles Constabula­ry and Edinburgh City Police. I then made a dramatic change of career and have been working in the theatre for 48 years. I had just finished a UK and Ireland tour of Dirty Dancing before the first lockdown.

‘I wonder what my former fellow “polis” students are doing. It would be a great pleasure to catch up with them again after so many years.’
