Should Harry and Meghan lose their titles?

-

THERE are calls for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be stripped of their titles following their interview with Oprah Winfrey. I believe this would be a meanspirited, knee-jerk reaction. The Queen will always be the bigger person and maintain her dignity. Her decision to deal with the situation privately is the right one, while the comment that ‘some recollections may vary’ indicates that she will not take this lying down. Stripping Harry and Meghan of their titles would impact unfavourably on the millions of dollars they are in line to receive because, let’s face it, that’s the only attraction they have in the

U.S. market. If they ended up broke, we wouldn’t want them back, would we?

GLENNIS EDMONDS, Fleet, Hants.

IT’S time to put the Sussex saga to bed. Harry and Meghan are clearly unhappy with the Firm and all that goes with it. They should relinquish the titles of Duke and Duchess and live as Mr and Mrs.

CHRIS SHARP, Leeds.

HOW could they make unfounded accusations against the Royal Family? They should be ashamed of themselves. They do not deserve their titles.

JACK BARKER, St Helier, Jersey.

AS A resident of the county, I would like to see Harry and Meghan give up their Sussex titles. I feel belittled that they care so little about us that they can move abroad. We deserve better.

B. THOMAS, Billingshurst, W. Sussex.

HARRY and Meghan, as you have resigned your royal duties, why not resign your titles?

LES SPENCER, Saughall Massie, Wirral.

STRIPPING Meghan and Harry of their titles would repeat the same mistake made with Diana. It would be seen as vindictive and cruel, and simply confirm all their accusations. We need to show compassion for these poor, damaged souls and set about the long process of healing.

ALAN KIPPS, Hadleigh, Essex.
