Police thank stay-at-home fans
POLICE Scotland have thanked Old Firm fans after feared mass gatherings failed to materialise. Following Rangers’ title win this month, hundreds took to the Glasgow streets to celebrate, flouting social-distancing and mass-gathering rules. Fans had been warned against gatherings ahead of the game yesterday and Assistant Chief Constable Bernard Higgins said: ‘I’d like to thank the vast majority of fans from both clubs who took responsibility to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 by not gathering at Celtic Park or anywhere else. Where small groups of people did gather, officers encouraged them to disperse and return home.’
