OLE: DEFEAT IS WAKE-UP CALL

- By IAN LADYMAN

OLE Gunnar Solskjaer blamed tiredness for Manchester United’s dismal FA Cup exit at Leicester yesterday — then warned his players they will have to get used to it. United were dumped out 3-1 by the Foxes, three days after playing in the Europa League in Milan, and their manager said: ‘We didn’t have the spark and it’s understandable. The players have been fantastic playing every three days and have been on a great run. ‘It caught up with us, all the games and travel. Thursday in Milan was a big night and took a lot out of us and we just didn’t have that zip and confidence. ‘But we have to get used to it. If we are to be successful, we have to handle this and hit a higher level. That’s what we’ve been striving towards.’ Brendan Rodgers urged Leicester to create history after Leicester reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1982. ‘We are in the semi-final and we have a chance to get to the final and create history,’ he said after only the club’s second win over United in 23 years. ‘When it comes, we will fight and give everything we can to achieve that. ‘For the club to get to the final and win the trophy would be really special. It’s a trophy in their history they haven’t won. I would be so happy for the owners.’
