Let’s get ready to... bundle! Kirsty’s baby hope with boxer
SHE spent years interviewing a host of leading sportsmen for Sky Sports News. But now Kirsty Gallacher has struck up a romance with a former boxing champion she met at the television station. The former presenter and model, the daughter of Scots golf legend Bernard Gallacher, is dating boxer-turned-TVpundit Johnny Nelson. The pair’s romance was revealed just days after Miss Gallacher, 45, said she felt ‘completely ready’ to have a baby with her new mystery boyfriend. The mother of two parted ways with her ex-husband, retired rugby player Paul Sampson, 43, in 2015, after a 15-year relationship. They co-parent two sons, Oscar, 14, and Jude, 11. Miss Gallacher said: ‘I wouldn’t put anything past having another child… I’d obviously want to do it sooner rather than later, but I toy with it right now.’
Speaking on Women’s Health podcast Going For Goal, she added: ‘I feel like saying if someone’s got a problem [with her having another child at 45], why is that?’
The Sun on Sunday reported Mr Nelson, 54, is the mystery man and they have been an item since late last year.
The couple are said to be ‘going great guns’ and ‘really keen on each other’.
Mr Nelson, from Sheffield, joined Sky Sports in 2004. He was cruiserweight world champion from 1999 to 2005 and has two daughters with his ex-wife Deborah. Miss Gallacher’s spokesman did not respond to requests for comment.
