Luxury hotel in staffing crisis plea

- By Gordon Currie

THE ‘world’s best hotel’ is suffering a staffing crisis and begging Scots living nearby to apply for jobs – including roles as head of coffee and a whisky sales assistant.

Gleneagles has been posting flyers to thousands of Perthshire residents in an attempt to fill 150 vacancies.

The appeal from the five-star hotel, in Auchterarder, states: ‘Whether you love working with spreadsheets, baking sheets, bedsheets or dust sheets, we’d love to talk to you.’

Managing director Conor O’Leary said: ‘A multi-million-pound investment programme is ongoing.’

Gleneagles was named the Best Hotel in the World in The Sunday Times Travel Awards in November.
