-

FANCY swapping the rat-race for a Monarch of the Glen-style lifestyle?

A couple willing to work as a gardener and housekeeper are being sought by the Strathconon Estate owned by Danish billionaire Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, whose grandfather invented Lego. The jobs come with free accommodation on the 82,000-acre estate, in Ross-shire, and a ‘competitive salary’.

Heledd Rheinallt, of managing agents Bidwells, said: ‘The owner is keen that the positions are filled by a couple who’ll embrace the lifestyle.’

Meanwhile, another couple are needed to serve as live-in caretakers on the Fasnacloich Estate in Appin, Argyll. They will live rent-free in a cottage on the grounds and receive a ‘generous salary’.

Mark Mitchell, of estate managers Bell Ingram, said: ‘This really is a dream job for people who want to live and work in spectacular countryside.’
