DUFFY EYES POETIC JUSTICE IN BLUES’ PROMOTION PUSH
DARRYL DUFFY believes it would be ‘poetic’ if Stranraer could join Hearts and Partick Thistle in being promoted just a year on from being controversially relegated at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. The Blues were consigned to League Two when the SPFL called a halt to last season and subsequently reached an agreement with clubs to use a points-per-game calculation to decide on demotion. The Stair Park outfit begin their attempt to bounce straight back up when they host Dumbarton in the first leg of their play-off semi-final today and Duffy said: ‘It would be quite poetic if the three clubs who felt hard done by last season all got up, wouldn’t it? ‘It would an incredible story. Hopefully that’s something that we can achieve.’
