THE First Minister is making much of the number of SNP, and hence pro-independence MSPs, elected. However not all Nationalist MSPs received more than 50 per cent of the votes.

As an example, in the Strathkelvin and Bearsden constituency the SNP candidate received 21,064 votes while the pro-Union parties got 24,765.
