PART two of this nicely underplaye­d Canadian drama — from the writer of Keeping Faith — finds widowed coroner Jenny Cooper (Serinda Swan) still trying to cope with the aftermath of the lies told by her dead husband. That trauma comes in strangely handy, though, as she investigat­es tonight’s new case.

ANSON MOUNT (Hell On Wheels) plays a hit man and Anthony Hopkins his boss in a well-cast if vague action thriller.

HIGH-PROFILE new documentar­y, all three parts of which arrive at once. It contains startling personal insights — including Reggie Kray’s scrapbook — and starts with their mum, who was so significan­t to both criminal brothers.

FILM BUFF Mark Kermode’s Secrets Of Cinema, 10.30pm, BBC4

THE critic presents a jaunty guide to the romcom genre in this enjoyable episode. One of Kermode’s favourites is the mermaid romance Splash (‘I must have seen this film a hundred times’), and he talks about his subject with such passion and insight that it’s a pleasure to watch.
