Don’t hide from the facts

-

THE Westminster government has announced an independent inquiry into the Covid crisis, albeit to be delayed till next year, which won’t be welcomed by families who have been bereaved.

What does Nicola Sturgeon’s government do? It suggests it would be happy to engage with the UK-wide inquiry and determine if a distinct Scottish inquiry is required.

What a brass neck, not a week after the election. One of the SNP manifesto’s main claims was to have an independent Scottish inquiry into the handling of the pandemic by Saint Nicola and her government.

As healthcare is totally devolved it has to be an inquiry in Scotland looking into Holyrood’s actions.

When pontificating from her rostrum in her politicised daily briefings we have been told the anomalies with different times of lockdown and levels, compared to England, were her government’s decision and the best way forward for Scotland.

Instead of hiding from facts and figures as with the election, come out and be open to independent scrutiny for once and earn some respect from the people of Scotland.

The way we have let people with critical illnesses down is a disgrace. Lessons have to be learned... even by those who in their own eyes can do no wrong.
