Laughter really is best tonic for me
I’d really love a giggle, Haven’t had one for a while. Oh yes, there’s been some laughter, A grin or two, a smile. But a giggle’s something different, It wells up from inside, And you really can’t avoid it, Or run, or duck, or hide. As muscles turn to jelly And tears run down the cheeks And conversation’s hopeless For words come out in squeaks.
It’s better than a workout.
It’s better than champagne. It’s better than a holiday In Switzerland or Spain. A giggle keeps you toasty warm No matter snow or frost, And should I see one up for sale I’d buy it . . . hang the cost. They’re getting quite collectable, Desirable and rare. I reckon I’m besotted . . . What a laughable affair.
