SCOTS FACE EURO TICKET BLOW

- By STEPHEN McGOWAN

SCOTLAND fans scrambling for the last coveted seats for the Euro 2020 home games against Czech Republic and Croatia will be allocated less than 2,000 tickets. Around 6,000 tickets for each match have already gone to supporters who bought briefs in the original sale and were successful in the ballot this week. But only 1,972 of the remaining tickets for the opening game with the Czechs on June 14 will be sold to the Tartan Army. The allocation for Scotland fans for the trip to Wembley on June 18 is 2,655, while the final home game against Croatia four days later will see just 1,940 briefs going to supporters still seeking tickets. The Scottish Government have given the all-clear for Hampden to host 12,000 fans for each of the four games hosted in Glasgow, including the group match between the Czechs and Croatians and a last-16 knockout match. This latest allocation of tickets means around 8,000 Scotland fans are expected to attend the two games at the national stadium. Large numbers of Scots supporters have already lost out on tickets in the ballot for the original public sale

of tickets. The rush to snap up the last seats for the national team’s first appearance at a major finals in 23 years will now be restricted to members of the SFA Supporters’ Club and decided by a loyalty-points scheme based on home and away attendance and previous membership.

No paper tickets for the games will be printed and all entry will be through a phone app, with the tickets non-transferable. UEFA have already barred Under-18s from purchasing tickets.

The full allocation is: Scotland v Czech Republic: 1,972 tickets (134 at £155, 450 at £107, 1,388 at £43).

England v Scotland: 2,655 (128 at £155, 494 at £107, 2,033 at £43).

Scotland v Croatia: 1,940 (133 at £155, 490 at £107, 1,317 at £43).
