DMGT profits slide
THE number of subscribers to the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday’s digital edition has more than doubled.
Subscriptions to Mail Plus rose to 89,000 in the six months to March 31, up from 42,000 a year ago, the Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT) said.
But DMGT, which owns the Mail titles as well as the ‘i’ and Metro newspapers, said profits had fallen by 20pc over the period due to disruption from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The firm’s events business has been hit by lockdown restrictions and the consumer media arm has seen a fall in advertising revenues.
