Tiger reveals pain of latest recovery

-

TIGER WOODS has said his recovery from injuries sustained following his car accident in February has been ‘more painful than anything I have ever experienced’. The 45-year-old had surgery on open fractures to his lower right leg and further injuries to his foot and ankle following the single-vehicle crash in Los Angeles in February. The 15-time major champion has revealed in an interview with Golf Digest how he is taking his recovery ‘one step at a time’, but did not give any comment on his hopes of playing golf again.

RICHARD BLAND put himself in contention for back-to-back victories after taking a share of the first-round lead at the Made in Himmerland event in Denmark. The Englishman, whose victory at the European Masters a fortnight ago was his first win in 478 European Tour events, made an eagle on the par-five eighth as well as four birdies on the way to joining defending champion Bernd Wiesberger, Korean Yikeun Chang, Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal and Finland’s Lauri Ruuska at the top. Robert MacIntyre opened up with a two-under 69.
