THIS IS WHAT 55 LOOKS LIKE

Gabriella espinosa is a yoga teacher who lives in london with her husband Ted. They have three teenagers aged 16, 18 and 19.

LIFE-CHANGING HRT

WHEN I was in my 40s, I started going through the perimenopause and began to experience anxiety, depression, irritability and brain fog. It also impacted my libido. I think a lot of marriages suffer during this time. And I started having terrible joint pain, too. At 50 and at the end of my tether, I went to the doctor who put me on HRT. It made a massive difference. I feel like myself again.

HAIR THINNING TONIC

I’VE always had long hair, but a few years ago, my hair started to thin and fall out, which was distressing. A friend recommended a homemade hair conditioning treatment containing two tablespoons each of Pukka Herbs Cold Pressed Castor Oil (£9.95, pukkaherbs.com) and extra virgin olive oil; plus a few drops of Doterra Rosemary Oil (£16, doterra. com). I massage it into my scalp once a week, and leave it on for up to three hours. It has helped to strengthen and moisturise my hair.

COLLAGEN-BOOSTING FACIALS

EVERY few months I get a facial with Justine Masters (from £120 for 60 minutes, justinemasters.london). I love her treatments because she focuses on mature skin, using Osmosis products such as Calm Gentle Retinal Serum (£64, osmosisbeauty.com). I used to suffer from breakouts, but this has helped to manage that.

POST-WORKOUT SMOOTHIE

EVERY day I take M Powder MenoBoost Bio-Stage 2 supplements (£69, mpowder.store) which are designed for balancing hormones for menopausal women. I mix them into my post-workout smoothie, with oat milk, avocado, banana and yoghurt. It’s an energising start to the day.

YOGA FOR MENOPAUSE

I’VE been a yoga teacher for 25 years, and it has helped me to anchor myself during periods of change. I run an online course to help midlife women (£45, movementformodernlife.com). It’s for everyone, no matter your experience or ability. n Do you look good for your age? reveal your secrets to inspire@dailymail.co.uk,
