MY HUSBAND James also enjoyed many a holiday in Corton, Suffolk, with members of a club for disabled people he ran in liverpool. i stayed at home to look after our two Westies. he always visited Beccles market and one year bought me a stone Westie for the garden, but unfortunately left my gift at the market stall. The following year, he visited the market again and told the stall-holder what he’d done. ‘Yes,’ he said. ‘i have it here waiting for you.’ After his long wait, the stone Westie is happy in our garden.
