Today’s poem

-

A result of months of Covid Is that people feel so stressed, That oldies like my wife and I Can easily get depressed.

We therefore both decided That we had to find a way Of changing something in our lives To brighten up our day.

We knew we couldn’t travel far Or dine in the local bar, But suddenly we had a thought Of buying a nicer car.

We knew we’d get a thrill from that As we’d had our car a while. It was time to buy a modern one With a totally different style.

I called a friend who works with cars, As I loved the type he drives, And soon he turned up at our door With a car that changed our lives.

The colour wasn’t quite our choice And nor was the maker’s name Plus we’d have to change to diesel fuel But we loved it just the same.

The car has changed the way we drive Which sounds a bit dramatic, But finally we share the joy Of a car that’s automatic.
