Connolly’s card mix-up a big hit

SIR Billy Connolly has revealed he sends a Christmas card intended for a friend to the wrong address each year because the man who lives there loves receiving it.

The Big Yin, pictured, had been posting a card to an old banjo player pal from East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, for years without realising he had moved.

The comedian bumped into the person who bought the house while strolling down New York’s Broadway one day.

The man told him about the mix-up but urged him to keep sending the card.

Sir Billy, 78, said: ‘This guy had moved in and he loved the fact that I sent him this Christmas card every year. He said “Will you keep sending it?”. I said “Sure,” and he’s still on the list.’

Sir Billy was speaking during an appearance filmed for the Edinburgh TV festival where he was given a lifetime achievement award.
