Climate change hypocrites must clean up own act

-

IT’S time Extinction Rebellion, a bunch of attention-seeking narcissists, woke up to the fact their protests are aimed at the wrong target.

To disrupt the efforts of thousands of people trying to make a living shows the protesters’ sense of entitlement.

I have no problem with peaceful protest or marches, but causing disruption and delaying the emergency services is disgusting.

We can’t afford to indulge these egotistical attitudes.

I hope that when law-breaking protesters are prosecuted, their punishment will include a victim surcharge to reflect the cost of their actions to the public purse.

How hypocritical of Extinction Rebellion founder Dr Gail Bradbrook, who says she is passionate about climate change, but drives a diesel car.

Her excuse is she can’t afford an electric car and needs to drive her children to rugby and football.

She should follow the advice she dishes out to the rest of us and cycle or walk.

PETER NAYLOR, Worthing, W. Sussex.

WHY is Extinction Rebellion able to disrupt central London for days on end when other protesters have to march, rally and make their point in one day?

Far from alleviating the distress and disruption inflicted by the protesters, the police add to it by blighting the lives of residents and businesses with hours of ear-blistering helicopter patrols.

The police and protesters should stick to dancing with each other.

MARTIN KENNEDY, London W1.
