Life at full throttle

I ENJOYED the letter from reader David Willey about the classic car market being taken over by profit-chasing investors.

But my main interest was the photo of David and his Austin Healey Sprite with the licence plate COL 5C taken in the 1970s.

We bought this car after we married in 1966. It was with great regret we traded it in for a saloon car when my wife was heavily pregnant and could neither get in or out of the Sprite.

We vowed that when our children flew the nest we’d buy another sports car. We treated ourselves to a British racing green MG TF.

You can’t beat a sporty little motor!
