‘Murdered’ girl: Mother in court

THIS is the girl of five whose mother is charged with murdering her.

Alijah Thomas (below) was killed at the family home in the west London suburb of Ealing on Tuesday and yesterday her mother Martina Madarova, 41, appeared before Westminster magistrates.

Madrova wore a prison-issue grey tracksuit and spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address during the two-minute hearing. District judge William Hammond remanded her in custody until September 20, when she will appear at the Old Bailey.

Police were called to the tree-lined road, where terraced homes fetch more than £1million, just before 1pm on Tuesday. Paramedics tried to revive Alijah but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A neighbour later described the victim as a ‘beautiful little girl’. Another said: ‘She was the perfect child, adorable.’

Madarova is thought to work as a carer and Alijah’s father a delivery driver.
