Hearts apologise after The Sash is played at Tynecastle

HEARtS have issued an apology after a loyalist anthem was played over the tynecastle tannoy system during a stadium open day. the Foundation of Hearts, the club’s new owners, threw the doors of the stadium open to fans on Sunday for a behind-the-scenes tour. the event was soured, however, when the Sash was played over the tynecastle sound system, prompting demands for an investigat­ion from angry fans. Insisting the song in question has ‘no place’ at Hearts, the club said procedures have been put in place to ensure the incident is ‘never repeated.’ ‘the song in question has no connection to Hearts and has no place at tynecastle,’ said a club statement. ‘Club officials apologised at the time to those inside the stadium who brought the matter to their attention. ‘the club would now like to further extend that apology to our wider fanbase after videos of the incident were shared on social media.’
