Hidden scandal of drugs

MORE than 850 babies have been born addicted to drugs in Scotland over the past five years.

I find this shocking beyond belief. Often when we talk about the drugs crisis in this country we focus, rightly, on the staggeringly high number of deaths. But this hidden scandal is just as devastating.

We must do more, much more, to intervene at both ends of the spectrum. To stop lives being ended by drugs, and to give those starting out a fighting chance.
