Why exotic dancer tore a strip off critic Coren

AS A presenter of BBC series Amazing Hotels, Giles Coren is paid to marvel at some of the world’s most spectacular attractions.

His comments about a beautiful woman who cavorted in front of him at dinner in her underwear have, however, landed him in trouble.

In his review of Mayfair restaurant Maine, the critic described the woman as having ‘big, round, expensive boobs, attached to her impressive, gym-hardened dancer’s body’. He said: ‘Look, there was a stripper. There is no getting away from that.’ He said the sight had caused him to spill his £13 fish taco into his lap, because he was ogling her ‘glistening amber skin and smooth round bottom’.

Now, the woman has identified herself as Jolie Papillon and she’s not happy. She chides Coren, 52, for ‘not knowing the difference between a stripper and a burlesque dancer’ and snaps: ‘I can see my “impressive, gym-hardened dancer’s body” made you feel quite intimidated.’
