Claire Bates reports for PEOPLE FIXING THE WORLD (BBC WORLD SERVICE, 8.06AM, 3.06PM, 11.06PM) on a useful development in the fight against the disease.

A ROW between neighbours about a hedge turns into a police matter in the comedy show IT’S A FAIR COP (RADIO 4, 6.30PM). Alfie Moore (pictured), who spent more than 20 years in the police force, swears the studio audience in as special constables, then takes them through the ins and outs of the true-life incident. Alfie,

who is now a successful stand-up comedian, brings his wit and experience to the case, providing both laughs and insight into human behaviour.
