Running gag made me star of the panto

-

WhEn I was a student nurse, the highlight of the hospital entertainment calendar was the panto. We took ours to other hospitals and they performed their offerings for us. the first night was for our own staff. I was playing a palace guard with a long wait between appearances. With my new fiancée, I was sitting in the social club directly below the stage and could hear the dialogue. Eventually, I heard the beginning of my scene. I went up the left-hand staircase and found myself on the wrong side of the stage. I dashed downstairs, back through the social club and up the correct side. I flew onto the stage just as Abanazar ordered his guards to take Widow twankey away. I hurtled onto the stage, taking both my companion guard and the startled widow across the stage and off, in what felt like one enormous bound. Everyone liked the scene so, I had to do it every time we put on the show.
