TODAY’S RECIPE: Berry smoothie bowl

HEALTHY start to the day. Serves: 4.

Ingredient­s

3 tbsp plain yoghurt

1 apple, quartered

1 pear, quartered

3 pitted dates, chopped

300g mixed fresh or frozen berries

2 tbsp rolled oats

TOPPINGS: 100g blueberrie­s

1 kiwi, sliced Handful of granola

2 tbsp toasted coconut chips

Edible flowers

Method

1 Put yoghurt, fruit and oats in blender. If using frozen berries, add 5 tbsp water. Whiz until smooth.

2 Check texture — it should be spoonable, like a thin yogurt, as it will thicken when the oats absorb moisture and swell up. Add a couple of tablespoon­s of water if needed. Pour into bowls and add toppings.
