SHE seems to have enjoyed transforming into swimsuit-clad Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson in her latest TV role.

For Lily James bared almost as much flesh as she posed for Porter magazine.

Miss James, 32, showed off her midriff in a Christopher Esber lace-up cardigan – and revealed that she had found it liberating to play one-time Playboy model Miss Anderson.

The former Downton Abbey and War And Peace star told NetA-Porter’s digital magazine that for her role in Pam & Tommy she immersed herself in the character as never before. To play Miss Anderson, she wore a prosthetic body suit and spent four hours each day in make-up and costume. ‘I’ve never done anything where I look very different from myself before,’ Miss James said. ‘And I’d really like to continue in this vein, because I felt there was something very freeing and liberating in it. ‘There was a bravery that came from that. A courage that came from… disappearing. I’ve never worked so hard. It takes a while to let a character like that leave you.’

Pam & Tommy, being screened next month on Disney+, follows the story of the whirlwind 1995 romance between Miss Anderson – then at the height of her Baywatch fame – and rock star Tommy Lee.

They married within four days of meeting only for a sex tape made by the couple during their honeymoon to be stolen and leaked online.

US actor Sebastian Stan, 39, plays Motley Crue drummer Lee in the eight-episode series.

Miss James, who is dating American rocker Michael Shuman, was last seen on UK screens in the BBC’s The Pursuit Of Love.
