Today’s poem
NEW BEGINNINGS
I’m bringing the scales out
of hiding, It’s something I do
every year, I’ll have to blow off the
dust, of course And hope that the readings
are clear.
I’ll start it ‘tomorrow’ like
most of us do, I’ll stand on the scales with
one leg Then gradually place the
other one on Still hoping that it can
be read.
It’s not easy to read
wearing glasses ’Cos I find it’s not very clear. Shall I bend down and keep
myself steady? Yes, I think that’s a
better idea.
I’m looking and trying
to focus Now the dial has come
into view, It’s come as a shock to see
what it says, I’ll have to diet now . . .
wouldn’t you?
I now have to slim and
stay healthy And hopefully get fit
and trim, I’ll be walking the dog with
a spring in my step Though you won’t see me down at the gym!
