SEASIDE home prices have soared in Scotland in the past four years, outpacing the UK average rise.

Lender Halifax said a typical Scottish coastal property cost £165,960 last year, a leap of 14 per cent on 201 . By comparison, the average UK seaside home rose by per cent to £2 7,0 7 in 2021.

In Millport, Great Cumbrae, pictured, the average more than doubled in the past year, to £113,292. North Berwick, East Lothian, is Scotland’s priciest coastal town, with an average of £374,406.

David Alexander, of estate agent DJ Alexander Scotland, said: ‘Coastal properties are attracting record offers.’
