Gwyneth’s sharp dose of reality

GWYNETH Paltrow, left, is plugging a new detox programme. Amusingly, however, even she of the voluntary-bee-sting-inthe-name-of-beauty appears to be struggling with this one, and was filmed wincing as she knocked back an acidic shot of brown water. I’m not surprised. The rest of us have been finding her nonsense hard to swallow for years.

WOMEN trusted Dr Krishna Singh. Why wouldn’t they? He was their GP, a respected local doctor who had their best interests at heart. Except that Singh, who this week was found guilty of sex crimes against 48 of his female patients over a 35-year period at a health centre in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, was a predator. He preyed on his victims – who included a rape survivor, a pregnant woman and teenage children – at a time when they were vulnerable and exposed, and abused them in the worst possible way. Now aged 72, Singh is facing considerable jail time for his crimes. Some of the women he molested, however, have been left with a life sentence of trauma and shame. And no amount of jail time can make up for that.
