MISSING . . .

-

THE DAILY MAIL offers the opportunity to re-establish contact with long-lost relatives and friends. Each week, MONICA PORTER features the story of someone trying to find a missing loved one and a tale of people reunited. Produced in conjunction with the voluntary tracing service Searching For A Memory, run by Gill Whitley.

CALLING all footballers who played for Tavistock FC from the late 1950s to mid-1960s. ‘The team originated at the Mary Ward Youth Club in Tavistock Place, Euston, London,’ writes Kerry Laffar, inquiring on behalf of his father David, 83, from Hertfordshire. ‘The manager was Tim Webb and the players included Roy Lunnis, who went on to play for QPR; Peter Gooding, who later played for Loughborough FC and Notts Forest reserves; and Roy Sleap, who went on to Barnet FC and was in the GB team at the 1960 Olympics. ‘In particular, my father would like to hear from David Robertson. From the age of 14 to 27, they played together on various teams: Playford, Tavistock, APV Crawley, Crawley FC and Sussex County. ‘Dad worked as a printer in Fleet Street, later owned a sports shop and was an independent financial adviser until his retirement. A chance to reconnect with any of his old team-mates would mean the world to him.’
