Harry’s son was almost a Harrison!

Meghan (in £3,600 dress) says Archie’s middle name was nearly his first name – as she ‘hires Obama’s bodyguard’

THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex were torn over what to call their son ahead of his birth, it has emerged.

Meghan is said to have told the parent of a boy called Harrison that she and Prince Harry could not decide whether to choose this or Archie as a first name.

They opted for Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor after he was born on May 6, 2019. The dilemma was revealed at a children’s book reading Meghan attended at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.

Sherry McBain, 42, of Southampton, said her wife Mandy brought their son Harrison to the event and got talking to the duchess about names.

Meghan and Harry also made an unannounced appearance at an evening reception for the Games in The Hague on Sunday.

The duchess, 40, wore a cream £3,600 Valentino dress as she and the prince, 37, met competitors and fans.

The couple were shadowed by Barack Obama’s former bodyguard Christopher Sanchez as the row continued over their security arrangements in Britain.

Mr Sanchez, a US Secret Service agent for five years, protected President Obama and his predecessor George W Bush.

In addition the Sussexes had a Netflix film crew in tow said to be working on a documentary about the Games.
