TEA’S UP

There is nothing more addictive than a bracing mug of tea, With the fragrance and aroma of the finest quality. There are hundreds of varieties, all vying for their chance, Each with different personalities, to make our tastebuds dance. For me, the cheery highlight of a cold and bleak day’s end Is to put the kettle on and brew my own delicious blend. As I watch the luscious amber nectar swirl around the cup I think of billions of us, round the world, all gladly drinking up. This unctuous flavour bomb encased in hues of gold and brown Is the one superior beverage that can beat the rest hands down. It can calm us down or lift us up, to send us on our way It’s the friend with extra benefits to power

up our day. It’s had battles fought and temples built, to venerate its worth, And the parties where it flows all day are pleasure domes of mirth! You can keep your Lapsang

Souchong and your Orange Pekoe tree; My golden aromatic brew’s

the only one for me. So when it’s time to meet the

great samovar in the sky, Just one thing will be going with me: my favourite mug of Chai.
