Don’t let Meghan hijack the jubilee
PRINCE Charles is reportedly concerned that the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations could be hijacked by Harry and Meghan. This self-centred couple are indulged by the over-the-top publicity they receive. Let’s hope they do the right thing, stay quietly in California and allow the Queen to take centre stage in the country she has served so well over the past 70 years. Unfortunately, I don’t think their contact with Netflix will allow that.
CHRIS MoFFAT, Cullompton, Devon.
I SUSPECT Prince Harry and Meghan’s flying visit to the Queen at Windsor Castle was to curry favour to allow them a starring role in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. My support of the monarchy will plummet if they turn up on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

LET’S hope the Sussexes’ visit to the Queen leads to peace moves in the Royal Family. We all have our tricky moments with relatives, but the wounds can be healed by applying a bit of common sense. It must be heartbreaking for the Queen to see her grandson and his wife earning more bad publicity than good. I hope they apologised for their past behaviour.

THE drop-in visit was a carefully crafted PR exercise to maintain the
Sussexes’ royal brand and income in the U.S. The fact they have a Netflix film crew following them means we can be forgiven for being sceptical about their motives.

WHY was it safe to visit the Queen, but not safe enough for them to attend Prince Philip’s memorial service?

LET’S hope the Queen recorded her conversation with Prince Harry and Meghan in case — to use her wise phrase — ‘recollections may vary’.

I HOPE Her Majesty remembered to curtsey to Princess Tippytoes!

DROPPING in on her granny-in-law was probably a good starting point for Meghan’s political ambitions in the U.S.
